On March 12, Google will update its Core Web Vitals by introducing the Interaction to Next Paint (INP) metric, which will take the place of the First Input Delay (FID).
This change emphasizes the need for websites to analyze and enhance their INP performance to improve interactivity aspects. Achieving a “good” INP score is crucial for maintaining high search rankings and enhancing user engagement. The INP metric is designed to measure the time from when a user interacts with a page (such as clicking a button) to when the browser displays the updated content, addressing interactivity issues not covered by FID.
